Whats this wire for?
I was wiring in an Ipod controller yesterday and while I had the dash off, I noticed that there was a wire harness connected to a dummy plug beside the 12v power outlet above the drink holder. Any idea was this wire harness is for?

A picture would help a lot. Might be for AUX switches.

If it's by the 12v outlet, that's for regular cab trucks, so you can put your key in the keyhole and turn off the passenger side airbag, Crewcab and I believe superabs don't have that keyhole, or the orange "airbag off" light

Correct. My crew cab has the harness stowed behind the panel also.

Thanks guys. I like knowing what the extra wires are for.

I should have said it was for the self-destruct button
