Is the Pioneer Avic-D3 able to be viewed easily from the back seat? Also do you need anything special to view the navigation?Do you need to subscribe to anything?I like the idea over the ceiling mount.I see them on E-bay for about $700.I assume this is a a good price. Is it easy to install? There are a lot of different things for it for sale, like a special plug to view the navigation while in motion.Any help would be appreciated,I am thinking about buying one too.Thanks.

Here are some I made and some I found for the pioneer navigation units... You can see the screen ok from the back but its small back there, The pioneer units have hookups for additional tv's so it uses 1 dvd player for all the tv's. also has hookup for a tv antenna if you go camping alot, dosent work good moving...lol I have the avic-n2 and like it alot and there is no subscription to have the navigation it comes with it.. I also have the backup camera on mine, when you go in reverse it automatically turns on the back up camera and makes it full screen, nice for backing up to a trailer.. I also have the cable to hook an IPOD to the unit, the cable is hidden under the dash and pull it out when I want it, it also is satellite radio ready.. I want to get a box that says it will let you use the steering wheel controls with the head unit but havent got that yet... Last edited by ryan20021982 : 07-13-2007 at 07:06 AM. |

No, I havent got my headrests yet. I just got this truck. I had the screens in my Dodge. The middle passenger can watch the in dash monitor. When the truck pull got rained out a couple weeks ago, five of us were sittin in my truck waiting to get out and everyone was watching the in dash without a problem. Having the headrests allows you to separate the front and rear. So if the kids in the back wanna watch a Barney DVD with wireless headphones on, While you want to listen to the satellite radio without a Purple dinasour on the screen you can. If you add the Nav Box or a standalone DVD player, You can watch different movies front and rear. Adding an X-box, will give you vidya games and an extra DVD player also. Everything can be controlled from the touch screen on your dash. |
