Wiring Question

Went out to put some toys on the big toy tonight until the wind chill dropped into the teens and it started getting dark.

Anyway, I am putting in the Alpine ixa-w404 head unit that I had in my old truck in and was also installing a Boyo vtl400 that I got for Christmas. I need to tap the head unit and the camera into a backup light hot under the dash. I know which fuse it is from the owner's manual, but I can't find anything stating which wire in the harness it is. Does anybody have any idea what color wire I should be looking for? It seems to be black/pink at the tail light, is the color the same under the dash?

Also, what do ya'll reccomend for tapping through the firewall? New hole with grommet and silicon or trying to shoehorn it in with the other wires in the harness?

Thanks!

I believe this wire is also located in the passenger side kick panel. I believe that's where the reverse sensor system, if equipped, is located. I searched and saw many say it is the black/pink. You should be able to drop down the fuse box and see the wire color going to that fuse location. Not 100% on that as I haven't paid attention to that when I've had mine out.

As for going through the firewall, there's a blank area, kind of an odd sideways "L" shaped piece to the left of the steering column. Insulation pulls off and can run through it. It's got a rubber seal in the engine compartment so make a small hole slit 2 ways and you shouldn't have a problem. I put a piece of black duct tape on the inside also and then put the insulation back on.

Thanks! I pulled the fuse block down and all the wires just plug in from harnesses, you couldn't see which one went to the individual fuse without pulling the fuse block apart.

Could you see a black/pink wire in the harness?

Found this on the 12V site. Check these maybe?

Key Source Black/Pink located in the 8-way connector right of steering column
Reverse lights Black/Pink located in harness under brake booster
