What is this wire doing?
There is a random wire spliced into the factory harness on my truck. It has been cut off, but I'm wondering what the wire it's tapped in is for. The harness is mounted right under the steering column and is a blue wire with orange stripe.

Edit -
No idea, sorry. Is that an inline fuse holder on the wire that's spliced in |

yes. The wire has been cut off and does not connect to anything. Just wondering what wire they would have tapped into

That is the ignition wires. All remote starts hook up there, but use a bunch more wires.. That looks like someone tapped into an "ignition on" power wire for some sort of accessory like a CB or something. Hold the other end (the one that is cut off), put a fuse in the fuse holder and test the voltage with the key off and key on. You can just cut it off or use it for an accessory of your own. Just figure out whether it is constantly powered (key off) or and ignition accessory wire.
