Truck is a 2005 and showed no warning. It keeps blowing the #17 fuse(exterior lamps). Put a new one in and it blows as soon as the switch is turned on. Thanks

Has it been raining lately? Wash your truck recently?
Do your brake lights and/or turn signals work? I'd try this - Pull all the bulbs (don't forget the front side marker lights), replace the fuse and try again. If it doesn't blow, put one bulb back in at a time. If it does blow, check the wiring to see if any got chaffed to where the wire is exposed. Just a suggestion. Good luck!! |

Well, I know it didnt fix itself, but I cant get it to blow another fuse. Ill have to give it some time and see what happens. The bed has them 3 dollar marker lights on the side, maybe one of them is messed up.

Dont know what it is though, Drove it bout 3 hours today in the pouring rain with the lights on and it never blowed. Kinda got me bumfuzzled. Starting to think that it just happened to blow a fuse, and the other 2 I put in it were no good.....but thats probably not the case. |

I had the same problem...license plate light was shorting out the system and a wire was rubbed through above the spare tire. Almost got me a ticket one day...repaired the wiring after many fuses and tracing wires...9 months later, no problems since.
