Stereo Suggestions?
I am looking for a new head unit for my truck. I don't want to spend a lot of money ($125-200) but want a decent unit. It needs to have 3 sets of pre-amp outs and needs to be compatible with the iPhone to listen to music and charge. I like Alpine products but there doesn't seem to be much available tht meet my criteria.
Any suggestions? Thanks!! |

I have an Alpine head unit that I like but has been discontinued. It was replaced by the Alpine iXA-W404. Slick double din unit that will fit in the '05 and up dash, easy install. Will take video inputs from a backup camera, DVD, or your i-Phone. It will allow you to control your Ipod/Iphone through the stereo controls or the stereo remote.
Screen is a little small for watching video, works great with a backup camera. |

I have an Alpine iDA-x100 which is essentially built for iPods/iPhone connectivity. It's a Digital Media Receiver so it does not have a slot on it for CDs but I believe a changer can be connected to it if you want. I h ave all my music on a flash drive and my iPod so I have no need for CDs.
Here is the newer version of what I have: Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. |

How about a head unit that will also allow you to retain the steering wheel controls for volume and changing sources etc etc........ |

You can get what used to be $600 head units for $2-300 bucks now. The prices have really dropped on units, im guessing since auto manufacturers are making better and better sound systems.
I like my alpine. |
