Alarm recommendations
Can anyone recommend a good alarm. My truck just got broken into last night in Nashville in a parking garage. They smashed in the passenger side key tumbler. Stole my stereo, gps, sunglasses, and my 2 yr. old sons portable dvd player with all of his Thomas the Train dvd's. They caught it on tape but, the police said they probably wouldn't ever catch him.

Autopage.... by far. Two way pager that lets you know when someone breaks into it. Good range and many options. The starter disabler prevented my truck from being stolen twice now.

What model do you have? Does it have a remote start and a turbo timer?

ill agree with autopage. ive installed over a dozen of them between me and my freinds in all sorts of vehicles. they all work great. and 90% of ALL remote start/car alarms have a cool down timer nowadays.

What model is the favorite?

i installed about 6 RS-727-LCD and RS-727A-LCD (only difference between the two are remote colors) but it has since been discontinued and i have been installing the C3-RS730 LCD as its replacement. all great alarms. and ive tested them to work from 10 city blocks away. at that time i got sick of walking and turned around and went back to my truck. i have NOT put on on my current Superduty tho. im still waiting on funds to do so.

You may also want to consider the Viper 5901 made by DEI. Has 2 way remote, remote start, ignition lockout, and turbo cool down. Range is reported to be 1 mile, though I find 1/2 mile to be a little more accurate.

How hard is it to install an alarm? Any tips? Any other info?
its not hard if you know anything about electronics and how alarms work. since you have an 03 superduty you dont need any bypass modules unless you have the factory keyless entry which i doubt you do unless its a lariat. Car Alarms, Remote Car Starters, Keyless Entry & Car Accessories has the wiring diagrams you will need. it will tell you where each wire you need to connect to is at. if i were closer i would help install for you but. your waaayyyy far away
