06 F-350 remote unlock....I want it to turn the running & head lights on

Hi all,

Just wanting to know if there is a way to have the headlights & running lights to be turned on when the doors are unlocked via the remote.

My 05 f-150 had that option & made it alot easier to see in the parking lot.

NOTE:
I only want the headlights & running lights to come on when it's dark. Figured if I wired it up to my autolights that would be the starting spot.

Thanks for reviving my post banshee. I haven't heard of a way to do it yet, but I'm sure it would have to tie into the auto headlight on feature the truck already has right now.

I'd really like to find out how as I don't plan on installing a remote start/alarm any time soon.

could you use a jumper wire in the fuse box from the dome lights to headlights?

I'm not an expert by any standards, but I would think anytime the dome light is on that would turn on the headlights.

Maybe see about getting wiring diagrams of the F150 and work down from there? I've thought about this before so now maybe I'll devote the time to it. Will subscribe to this and see if I can come up with anything. Fingers crossed.

I'm thinking that the additional delay/relay has to be tied into the locking trigger somehow. Looking at my wife's car, a Lincoln MKZ, unlock triggers head lights/turn lights/dome lights and lock only triggers the dome/running lights. Our 250/350's already do the locking light combination. Wouldn't want to tie into the dome light as that's not a true lock/unlock "trigger" where the lock action itself would be. I'll play with this more tomorrow.

Thanks Rattler for the help. Keep us posted on what you find. I'm thinking there probably is another relay that needs to be tapped into the autoheadlight feature, as I personally wouldn't want the headlights coming on during the day.....just at night.
