ID please

Could someone tell me what this black box is for? It seems to have a mini jack adapter attached to it and what looks like an antenna. It's also got dip switches which is kinda weird. I found this stuff when I took the interior panel off to get to the fuses and I'm just curious what its for. I'm assuming it's not factory stuff.... any ideas?
EDIT: I don't have any kind of alarm system or remote start that I know of. Maybe this is leftover from something like that ?

I bet it's an alarm system. Dip switches usually set the code for the remotes.

I think it's the Ford alarm the dealer's add on.

If thats the case either they did a real sh**ty job or someone played around with all the wiring under there. Both the main black box and the little mini jack adapter have mounting holes but neither one was mounted to anything. They actually just fell out when I first took the interior cover off. I just wish I knew what all this stuff is for. Maybe I could just disconnect it and see what happens...

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines too. Thing is I dont have any other remote for the truck other than the standard ford fob one with the basic lock, unlock, panic buttons. Truth be told I was really hoping this was some sort of remote start system that I could make work. That would rule.

If it is a remote start it can work with the factory key fob. There is a certain way you push the buttons to get it to start. Just search for that on here as other guy have had to figure that out too. Sometimes it is unlock lock unlock lock unlock lock and usually the horn will beeps twice and start after 45 seconds. But some have said their pattern is different. Hope this helps

well, I guess I'll give it a try tomorrow morning.

I still wanna know what the little mini jack adapter piece is for. It's got an input for a mini jack and a single red led and it plugs into the black box. I dont see how that would have anything to do with remote start. Then again I've never installed a remote start on anything before so what the heck do I know?
