How to install a brake controller harness???
My truck has the plug on the hitch for my camper but no brake controller. I just purchased a Prodigy P2 and the Ford 04 F350 wiring harness that just plugs right in somewhere under the dash. Can someone clue me in on where this harness plugs into under there?
Plus, do I need to add a fuse in the panel for the controller? Thanks!!! John |

On my 2007 the plug was up under the dash near the OBD port just kinda stuffed up in there. And when plugged in it work and has for 3 years. I wondered where to mount my Prodigy and I dont smoke so I removed the internal parts for the ashtray and mounted mine inside the ashtray access door. And when not is use just close the door and nothing is visable. If you locate yours and it doesnt power up check the owners manual for fuse location. Either under the dash or on the fuse block under the hood. Good Luck.....Steve

Steve, Thanks a lot for the info. I will look for it tonight. I don't smoke either so if you do not mind - I may follow your lead on the ashtray mod!

Sure, we removed the entire access door it comes out pretty easy. Removed the metal ashtray assembly, and if I remember there were a few plastic pieces that provided a form for the tray to fit in. They can just be removed(cut off) to give a flat surface for the bracket for the Prodigy. We actually mounted my bracket with rivits. and the wire just comes thorugh a hole in the rear of that compartment. No big deal as far as being complex. And when doen and closed dont know its there. Good Luck ...Steve
