AVIC D3 Bypass for anyone interested

found this on another site, it makes your gps and dvd run while the trucks moving, hope someone can use it.

1. Remove the yellow and black mute wire.
2. Place the Mute wire in the slot directly above where you removed it from.
3. Using a wire tap (radio shack 10 for $5) connect the mute wire to the ground.
4. Using the wire tap (that is already attached to the parking break wire/green wire) attach it to the ground wire as well.
5. GROUND the BLACK WIRE....AKA GROUND ENJOY!

This only work on the AVIC or other Pioneers?

And I did the bypass on my D3 when I got it a few years ago and it works perfect!

how bad id it to get the mute wire out i hear you can break em pretty easy also how bad is the install i got a smoking deal on a AVIC 110 yesterday so im trying to figure out how to put it in

Just don't try yanking it out, there is a small tab that locks the wire into the plug. I just used the sharp tip of my 12v test light to depress the tab and the wire came right out.

When I did mine all I had to do was ground out the parking brake wire

If/when you get the new Navi disks, Pioneer has disabled this feature. Now instead of looking for the parking brake to be on or the above mentioned trick, it is all controlled through the GPS antenna; so as soon as it sees that your moving, no more movie...lol
