Intergrated Brake Controller Problem

I have a 2007 f-350 with the intergrated brake controller. I just bought a brand new Eby Gooseneck livestock trailer. I can not get the brake controller to come on. I squeezed the controller and all I got was "Trailer disconnected".
The light were all working. Any thoughts of what could be wrong?

My fuse was blown on my 05 when I bought it and mind wouldn't work I think it was a 30 amp.
At the worst take it to the place where you bought the trailer maybe they have a tester it should tell whats not happening . tester plugs into the 7 way plug in rear and should tell you what your missing or need thats how I found mind.
