Power window motors

Recently my power window motor died on my passenger side rear window. I assume this is the problem, no fuses have blown and there is no noise from the window when I attempt to roll it up or down (it's stuck about 1/4" open). I took apart the door and nothing is binding. I do not know how to test a motor, or really even how to get it out of the door. So most likely, I'm going to just take it in for this issue. Any thoughts or opinions on what might be wrong? Am I correct in assuming the motor has gone bad.

Another issue that I've been having with the truck for about 6 months is the power rear window is jammed. It will open about 1/2" then stop. You can hear the motor bogging under load. You can also see the wires becoming slack next to the window. I took the rear apart and looked at the motor, it appears the wire is getting caught and bunching up inside the motor unit. Anybody ever had this issue? Or have any resolutions for it?

unplug the connector on the window motor and test for power and ground with a test light. if you have power and ground, more then likely its the window motor.
