Cargo Light Over Ride Switch

Does anyone know how to over ride the cargo light so it does not come on when the dome light goes on? I have the outfitter switches and would like to dedicate one on them to this. Any help would be great.:

This is a great idea. I hate when I turn on my dome lights my cargo light comes on. I would like a switch that just turns on the cargo light so I can check my motorcycle when I'm hauling it at night.

I would pull the cargo light and cut the hot wire. Then run a new primary to the upfitter switch you want to use.

You will have to run a new wire from your dash to the cargo light because the cargo light is directly wired into the dome light from the factory.

I did this on mine and it's not hard to do, just run the wire from under your dash to the drivers side doorsil, run it under the doorsil to the rear of the cab, then up to the cargo light following the path of the factory dome light wires.
