Sony Double Din WX-GT77 UI
Hello out there again. Anyone replace the stock radio with a Sony Xplod Double Din with the lousy Scosche double din bracket in a 2006 F-250? The bracket is all over the place. A feeling a real quality! Paul, are you being sarcastic? Dam right. Has anyone found a better bracket for mounting an aftermarket head unit in the dash. Maybe, I'm just missing something, like my brain and don't know how to use this fine bracket to put the head unit in and close the large gap in my dash with the rest of the dash. Thanks in advance for anyone who has done this and survived.

The bracket is all over the place? Does it not have the 4 mounting tabs that screw into your dash just like the stock radio?? No offense, but did you read the instructions? Scosche is a very reputable accessory maker in car audio.

Sony Double DIN
Scosche.com recommends the FD1426B Dash kit when installing a Double DIN radio into a 2005-2007 Ford Super Duty.
The DBL DIN radio is secured to the FD1426B by use of the side-mounting brackets that are included with the FD1426. According to the installation manual included with the FD1426B; (4) mounting tabs on the FD1426 must be broken off. The tabs that are left remaining, will then align with the mounting holes located in the dash. |

The instructions? What's that? No offense taken. Yes, read instructions and cut where they said cut, etc. I just don't like the look and feel of Scosche. I just prefer the metal to metal of the original. Anyway, it's in and it's tweaked so that there are no gaps, but I still like the old look of the pos radio in the dash. How do these companies like Pioneer, Panasonic, etc make these low fidelity, heavy as an anchor radios for stock applications. The stock radio is huge, built like a tank, and says Pioneer on it. If you had to replace it you'd have to pay 600.00 or more and it doesn't do anything but fill up the hole in my dash. Wouldn't it be better to put a high-fidelity stereo in to begin with?
NEW PROBLEM: Sony tuner doesn't tune in far away stations like the stock "stereo". Is there an antenna out there that anyone has tried the will boost signals? Thanks for your response. |
