keyless entry?

I have the keyless entry option on the truck. when i bought the truck they did not give me the code but told me they could plug it in and get it for me for around 100 bucks. Is there anyway to find the code for the truck without taking it in and spending the money?

If you bought it from a dealer, I would just ask them for it. That should have been part of the deal.

The code should be written on the PCM. I have heard where people used mirrors and a flashlight, pulled out the ashtray or even pulled the radio to be able to see it. Should be a 5 digit code.

Nice, I'll remember that. I didn't even know where to tell him to look. I know when I bought mine, they didn't have the code and I made them get it before I bought it.

There should also be a card in the little booklet that the owner's manual comes in with it on there.

True, but half the time the original owners throw it away. I know when I worked at Ford, they would take those white cards out of brand new vehicles and put them in the new deal packets and wouldn't even make it to the customers.

The VSM (Vehicle Security Module) is located to the RIGHT of the GAS Pedal, just above the Transmission hump and below the Radio. the VSM is NOT Accessible from the Radio opening.

Or call around you might be able to find a dealership to do it free for you.

Anything the dealer can do to get a extra $100. Probably want that in cash too. Thats part of your deal tell them to give it to you since you bought the truck from them......Steve
