Trailer Wiring Harness Question

Hi there,
I have an 2003 6L F350. I went out to the Ford Dealer today and bought a wiring harness for the truck. To connect to it, I have my Tekonsha Voyager Electric brake controller (from my old truck). Now here is my issue:

The brake controller has 4 wires from the back.

Black-to battery
Red-To Stoplight
White-To Ground
Blue-To Brake

on the harness from Ford, it is as follows:
Red-"Feed Wire From Battery"
Green-"Stop Lamp"
Blue-"Trailer Electric Brakes"
White-"Ground"
Brown-"Illumination Feed"

Now, for those of you who were not following along, the harness from Ford has an extra brown wire.

Here is how I hooked it up:

Blue to Blue
White to White
Black (from controller) to Red in harness
Red (from controller) to Green in harness

and the little only brown wire standing there by itself.

Did Ford give me the wrong harness??

Ian

no. You do not need the brown wire in the ford harness. Just leave it unhooked and everything will be fine.

Thanks for the replies. So, do you suggest just cutting out the brown wire from the harness then? I don't really want to leave the wire just hanging there.
