In-Dash OBDII monitor???

I was thinking how cool it would be to have an in-dash LCD screen that did all the functions of a regular CD/DVD/NAV system but also could plug into your OBDII system and function like a gauge set.

Does something like this exist that would be good for our trucks??

I did some looking and all I could really find was a device made by "Magden." Here is the link: Magden Automotive - Products : Details This is basically what I am looking for but I'm pretty sure this was designed with little rice grinders in mind, not necessarily diesel trucks (no egt option etc).

Has anybody ever seen anything like this, or heard of anything else out there?? I know somebody is bound to chime in and say to get actual analog gauges, that they're more accurate etc etc... I got that... I'm just curious about this. Thanks in advance all for any advice!!

I guess a Edge Insight can be modified to fit in a dash......

Yeah, I should have been clearer in my description. I want it to be interactive thru the DVD/CD/Nav systems. Basically like a DASHDAQ but I want the screen to be the DVD/CD/Nav screen, that's what that magden thing does. I like the insight and that is probably what i will ultimately end up getting (simply due to budget), I am just wondering what else is out there that will allow you to have a clean looking interior without having anything stuck to the windshield or on gauge pods.

There's the banks IQ, don't know much about it but basically a computer in the dash.

Turbos are often added to "rice grinders" it might have an EGT option.

why not use that, and then get a single gauge for the egt

The Bank iQ is similar to that. It's like a computer...getting it in summer when the one for the 7.3 comes out!!

That Banks IQ is pretty bad a$$ looking, but its just like a Dashdaq, suction cups to the windshield. Seems like a really nice interface tho...

Yep, it has a Windows operating system.
What is the Dashdaq?....I've never heard of it!

Looks like magden does offer an additional EGT sensor for their product. Whats another $100 when the initial computer is already $700... I'm going to seriously have to start saving my money for one of these...
