I've got 2 mtx 10's behind mine. It is possible to do with the seat in the stock location but you cannot go to deep on speaker mounting depth. I built my box to fit behind the seat without moving the seat any and I am extremely satisfied with it.

I went to many shops today in search of some bass for the new truck. I can get a box made for between the two front seats for $1000.00 (holey ch-t). I only paid $450.00 for my custom box behind my rear seat on my 2000. I guess I will have to wait to see what else I can do.

don't know about your truck... but when you lift the back seats does the top part of the seat move any? I used to have a dodge and when I put a sub behind one of the back seats I wasn't able to lift the seat cause it wasn't allowing the seat to move to go in the up position...... just something to think about

I'm not going to knock any other mfgs, but in my opinion, the best option for anyone with a 6.0 with bucket seats in the front is a JL Audio Stealthbox. It fits inside the center console (you lose the "drop in" cd rack that comes from the factory. The stealth box has one 10... but it hits like a son of a witch! I just got my system installed, and I was VERY worried that one 10 wouldn't satisfy me... I was wrong.

Save yourself the trouble of trying something else and being frustrated with the results. Get the stealthbox with a JL 250x1 mono amp. The stealthbox isn't cheap $550 - $650 depending on where you get it, but it's definately worth it. By the way... pay a pro to install it (should charge about 2 hours labor). It's not something an amateur should attempt (IMO).

Jayman... whoever quoted you $1000 for a custom box must be smoking crack. Go with the JL Audio and have fun!

I also have to recommend Dynamat for the doors and back wall (put it everywhere you can afford to!) The one 10 sub will shake your truck... if there is anything able to rattle, it will. The Dynamat will eliminate the resonance you hear from the large flat metal panels vibrating... plus, you get the added benefit that it helps block out road noise.

Have fun,

Daryl
