Cruise Control Sticking
I have a F-250 6.0 and while driving with the cruise set, sometimes when i hit the brakes the cruise doesn't shut off. After you stomp the brakes the cruise will finally disengage. has anyone ever had this problem? I would like to fix myself because i need a co-signer to get the dealership, haha

see if your brake lights come on right away all the time. What I believe is happening is that the brake lamp switch is sticking. If I remember correctly there is a pressure switch on the master cylinder that will cut it out if the brake lamp switch fails but it requires much more pedal pressure to activate the pressure switch hence the stomping on the brakes to disengage the cruise.

I usually back up against something that I can see the light reflecting off of and pump the pedal a few dozen times. or if you have a brake controller that has an indicator light on it you could watch that, or if you really wanted to get creative you could hook up an indicator light in the cab to the light green wire at the switch.
