Grounding the alternator?
My truck has 69k on it and I am on going on my fourth alternator. The stock one lasted until about 60k. 2nd was a reman and lasted for 6mo. 3rd was another brand of reman and lasted about 6mo. I was told that it is possible to get 2 bad reman alternator's but it seems unlikely. A friend told me to try grounding the alternator from one of the housing bolts to the frame, he said that this was a common problem of some of the Ford's he has owned in the past. Getting ready to put in alternator #4 and was wondering if anyone has heard of grounding the alternator, thanks in advance for any help.
