Adding Second Reverse Sensors ??

I have a motorcycle carrier for my '05 ZX-10R, MotoTote Motorcycle Carriers - The Easiest way to haul your Bike
It's hitch mounted, and then the motorcycle rolls up onto the ramps. With the Moto-Tote in, my reverse sensors obviously go off because there's an object right there!
So here's what I'd like to do, and I need some one good with wiring to help me out. I'd like to pick up a set of reverse sensors from the junk yard, and tap the harnes, (connections and all) into the existing reverse sensors on the truck. I would then mount the sensors to the Moto-Tote, and simply plug in the sensors when I mount up the Moto-Tote and brake lights and such. Great theory right? Only problem I see is that I still have the sensors in the bumper and I know that will cause the alarm to go off.
Solution 1, probably the easiest solution, is not even hard wire in a second connector, and just simply unplug the bumper sensors and plug in the Moto-Tote sensors, but I'm a guy and of course I want things to be difficult (or simple) depending on how you look at things.
Solution 2, is hard wire in the second connection so I can plug in the Moto-Tote into it as mentioned above, but some how wire up a relay that would trip the bumper sensors off, when the load of the 2nd Moto-Tote sensors are plugged in.
I want to go with #2 but is it possible? I don't know alot about running relays, but I know it has to be possible.
Oh, I thought of a 3rd possible Solution. I could add a two way, push button right next to the parking sensor button on the dash, push the button in, activate bumper sensors, push the button out, activate Moto-Tote sensors. Possible right? I still wouldn't know how to wire that up though.

Ought to be able to do the same thing on my 18' enclosed trailer too once I get this figured out.

That sounds like an awesome idea. If I were doing it, I would put a switch somewhere (under bumper?) that cuts off the factory bumper sensors, then ahead of the switch (on the side between the truck and the switch, mount my plug for the additional sensors so when you plug in your extra sensors you can "turn off" the factory ones.

TRUCK----------------PLUG--------switch---------Factory Sensors
to new switches

Does that make any sense? A relay would work but I would have to research the actual function of the wires going to the sensors so as to figure out where to get the coil voltage for the relay.

Snake, he wants to put a set of the backup sensors on his bike carrier and find a way to plug them into his existing sensors so he still has sensor function with his carrier in place on the back of the truck. Basically moving the sensing points from the bumper to the carrier but still retain the sensors when the carrier is not on the truck

I think that does make sense, I'd just have to figure out what wires to tap into.
Basically any of these options I have to figure out what wires to tap. I have an electrical diagram factory book. I can list what it shows if any one wants to chime in on this. I just think to me, i'm not going to understand it.
Only problem I see with mounting a switch under the truck is it getting wet and muddy.

I like the button on the dash idea best. But like Erik said, the trick would be figuring out the function of all the wires going into the sensors. Keep us posted on this. Sound like a real interesting project.
