kinda stuck about getting subs

i was at my local custom audio shop today, and they said theres no way to put a sub behind the seat, and i honestly dont want one back there.

so i have 2 options basically.

1. JL stealthbox with the single 10W3V3, driven by a 250/1.

2. enclosure with 2 10W3V3's driven by a 500/1. that i can sit in between my front seats, and rear seats.

problem with #1 is, i dont know if it will put out enough bass for my tastes, even if driven at max.

problem with #2 is i will loose basically 2 seats.

any opnions? anybody have the stealthbox?

i only want to spend about $1K for the stereo, i dont want to put a bunch of money into it, only to get stolen.

what if you reposition the rear seat brackets so that it move it forward a bit, you would loose some leg room but you could then probably stuff some subs back there

that is an idea also, but thats back to the fact that i dont want subs behind the rear seat, because i dont have a toolbox in the bed, and dont want one, so i store all my tow straps, and tie downs back there.

im not entirely sure about how different the back seats are between the models but i do believe that you can fit 2 10's in the back the only thing is you might have to cut the cloth off the back wall behind the seat to make the box fit. the bigest question is what dimensions for the box cause its almost imposible to measure back there but i know its been done so if anyone has any info on box sizes please pm me

What about under the back seats? Can't you remove the metal rack and have the shop just build you a box that fits? A buddy of mine just got one in his F150 and it's just 1 10" that hits pretty beepbeepbeepbeep hard.

Buddy of mine

Had a custom box built for his three 8's, which sound pretty good. Since you are looking for 10's, I would agree with Tonka Toy and see about mounting them under the rear seats.

the stealth box is actually really good..... i want to remove my 2 JL 10" from behind my seat and my buddy ( owns an audio shop) told me to get the stealth box.. he says it bumps really good and clean.... remember that a sub needs so much cubic inches of air space and if you stick them where you want i don't see how it would be possible to get the recommended amount of air-space out of them.... then the subs will sound like its forcing out the base and that doesn't sound good.... go with the stealth it is made by JL audio for optimum sound... itll sound better and crisper then the 2 W3 in a smaller en closer....hope this helps

Another option is to get some free airs and put them in the bottom of the back doors. Know what I mean?

I have 3 jl 10w3v2 between my front seats. Its a custum box made which still also houses an arm rest. It doesnt go any further than the front seats so you still have all the leg room across the back

Im redoing it though cuz I wanna go to the 12w6's
