Question AUX switches

Gotta question for ya. How do you hook into the factory aux swithces on the dash? Also has anyone install a P.I.E. radio aux converter, it plugs into the aux port on the stock radio, it is an adapter that gives you rca plugs. Just wondering where you mounted yours and witch wire did you hook to for power?

Do you mean the 4 AUX switches next to the TBC? If so then look behind your pull-out panel under the steering wheel and there should be four orange wires labeled Aux-1 through 4. Those are power, so hook them up that way then ground out whatever accessory you have.

You have to drop the fuse box to get to them easier....first two (1 & 2) are 30 amp and the second two (3&4) are 10 amp.

I have a P.I.E. converter in my rig. I can't remember what wire I tied into for the power to the converter though.

I do remember that I turned on the key and checked for 12 Volts on the radio connector with a Voltmeter. When I found a connection that was 12 Volts I turned the key off and opened the door to make sure that was the swicthed ignition wire.

I know the P.I.E. takes very little current so connecting it to the ignition wire will be fine, infact I supply power to my MP3 player with this same wire and have had no problems.

Oh and the sound from these things are great, if you have used a FM modulator you will throw it away afterwards. Also make sure you adjust the level on the converter before your put the dash back together!!!

I know anyone can buy the ones for the 05/06 years, but you might have to create a custom housing in the dash for it.
