It sounds like the door switch. Do the other functions (headlight on/ key in ignition chimes) activated by the door switch still work?

I was having issues with my expy. Are the switches on this the same integrated stuff? Someone told me to spray them all with WD-40. I laughed and thought he was nuts. Well, after several other attempts, I figured what the heck. No issues in 6 months. give it a shot, can't hurt.

expedition.

The switches in the doors stick in the Fords, my rangers always did this too, spray the latch with WD-40, open and close the door about 10x, the light should work fine after that.

also njmudrat, the switch up on the dome light operates the two side lights, the light in the middle is the one that comes on when you open the doors, pull the clear plastic cover and make sure there is even a bulb in there.

I had this issue in one ranger as well, it came with no bulbs. I plugged the bulb in and it stayed on all the time, sprayed the latches with WD and it went away. Sometimes instead of fixing the issues, people will just remove the bulb because they dont know any better.

Step 1) make sure bulb is in place and good
step 2) spray door latches with WD
step 3) enjoy.

Its such a small issue, but man is it soooo nice to have!
