Is there any way to have an alarm installed on a 2007 with remote start and NOT lose a key to the remote start bypass module?

Very confusing.......

Thanks

I don't quite understand what you mean by Not lose a key to the remote start bypass module.

Yes there is car starters out there now that will work with the security system without having to place a spare key in the bypass module.

Just go to the Ford dealership and they will sell you an unprogrammed key for 35 bucks. Most alarm installers actually want an unprogrammed key.

What good would an unprogramed key do if the starter needs a pats programed key to "get around" the Pats system?

I have an 07, but I don't have the chip in the key....Do you have the larger black key or the older style smaller one?

If you do have the chip....you want to get an UNCUT programmed key from the dealer, that goes in the "black box" under the dash. Since it is uncut, it won't be able to open or start anything....but if the installer is worth anything, the theif wouldn't be able to find the box.

If you are looking at the Viper alarms, some of the newer Fords don't need the box w/key...the brain just memorizes the code for the key.

I guess my installer was able to program the key himself.

My 05 doesn't have a PATS key either.
