AC Problem Please Help Road Trip Tonight

Ok, so my blows extremly cold but after about 10 or 15 minutes worth of driving it blows hot. So i checked my ac lines and they are hot when my vents blow hot, but naturally they are sweatin when its blowing cold. It drips water like natural when blowing cold but when it blows hot, it no longer leaves the puddle of water under the truck. I did an ac test on it and its full with freon and absolutely no leaks. My compressor never stops running and honestly im lost, i know alot about alot just not AC so if anyone has any quick ideas i can try in the drive way let me know asap, a 4 hour ride to spring river w/ no AC will put my girl in a real bad mood.

you will have to find someone with guages and see what the pressures are running when blowing cold and hot also check to make sure your condenser fins are clean and straight, make sure your fan is kicking in if not excessive condenser temp/pressure could open the high pressure cut out switch, if you suspect this find a high cfm fan and stick it in front of your grille and see what happens, but again guage readings will be the most accurate way to diagnose

Yep, need gauges on it to really tell anything. Is the compressor running when it's not blowing cold? Look at the center of the pulley to tell. The outside part always turns when the engine is running.

It could be the radiator fan not running causing it to trip on high pressure, but I'd think you'd be overheating too if that was the case. Plus, once you're driving down the road, you don't need the fan anyway. It sounds like the compressor is being kicked off for some reason. It could be an over/under charge, defective high/low pressure control, temp controller problem, etc.

I am having the same issue with mine. I also found that as long as my windows are down the ac continues to blow cold with no problem at all. if they are up it will do exactly what was described above.
