that system looks sweet....but i thought i would drop a line for an easier install than they described....this only applies to some models....so id you dont have these holes, disregard what comes after this......but if you do....you will note that your radio has two holes, aligned vertically, on each side of the radio. if you visit your MAC, MATCO, or SNAP-ON tool dealer (just watch for one and walk onto his truck), for under 15 bucks you can buy the radio removal tools. they are a U shaped tool that plugs into the ports....you put the tools in till you feel the engage.....then push them apart...push each to the outside........and pull.....the whole radio will come out and you will have access from there to do anything you want......just a note if you have this style radio...........Marc

Marc, how I wished Ford had put the radio in that way! The radio in my wife's Focus comes out with those tools, I installed her radio adapter in twenty minutes! Taking that dash apart was a bear!

A valid point, Marc, so much so that I am going to make a change in the article reflecting it. Thanks!

Autozone, Wal-Mart, etc. have the Ford radio tools as well. They come in handy not only for the radios but some Ford vehicles have that style of retainer for the climate control panel too.

See if your radio has a SAT input. If it does, this adapter should work.

Thunderbird adapter

Richard
