I think my dad's truck does that also, but I'm not sure what it is. I'm not around the 6L's much.

my truck makes that noise and i have found that the y pipes from the manifolds to the turbo are leaking,to check this look under the truck to the middle of the top of the bell housing and you can see the pipes from the exhause manifold to the turbo and if there is black soot on the pipes they are probably leaking and they will make a whistleing noise on acceleration, they can be changed but they are kind of a pain and bolts break.i think i bought all the pieces for about 150.00.you do have to buy the parts seperatly from what i found, check it out and good luck.
