When I tow, it will sometimes slam into gear if I run my tow tune usually after we have been driving for a couple hours and the tranny is good and hot (190* or so). It is definitely shift solenoids, but with it being so difficult to feel in stock form, you won't likely be able to get it fixed under warranty. Talk to your tuner about increasing the line pressure for the shifts where you feel it most.

PS. I worked with DJ (and Vivian) a couple years ago to try to fine tune my shift pressures, but we both ended up getting too busy to finish it. Oh and I haven't spoken to Eric about it yet.

Good luck!

My dealer had my programmer in my truck and even drove it like that and they still couldn't "find it".

I've read about these lazy solenoids, how do I fix it? I'm about ready to pay out of pocket to have my transmission working again!

Would a tranny flush help at all? I'm sorry, I just have little experience working with automatic trannies. Thanks!

You have to replace the weak solenoid. There are 7 of them IIRC and you can buy a complete set for about $200, although you only need to buy/replace the one. I used to have a diagram of the layout, although I have since changed laptops 2 times, so I probably don't have it anymore. I'll see if I can locate it for you, although you can go to the dealership and have the parts department print it off for you.

Yeah if you can find it, that'd be awesome, I'm not a huge fan of going to the local Ford dealerships. I dont think they like me anymore

I always thought it was a tranny prob, mine ended up being a bad injector that caused the bucking. you guys should have all your fuel injectors looked at

I had the same problems.... Replaced my "Direct Clutch Solenoid" and it went away.... for about 50 minutes! Then it decided to blow up the TC. Putting the new tranny in this weekend. Good luck hope yours is better than mine. -jim

Keep us posted, man. That is NOT what I want to hear, but it's better hearing about it and knowing than taking a chance and blowing it up.

Well...... got the new tranny in and drives fine UNTIL I am cruising and try to get in the throttle a bit to pass someone.... It almost feels like it is searching for a gear... It did this before! Either I have great luck with trannies or something else is going on..... I am to my wits end with the money pit. Anyone have any input?
