Sorry but no coverage for you. Your way out of the 36,000 mile range.

Now what I would do is this. Have the trans removed by a shop. Have the case tig welded. Then have the trans rebuilt with all new high performance parts. Get a new Triple disc converter for it. Then be happy.

Being it is a crack can't really tell what caused the crack until you open up the trans.

I was actually wondering if that would work.. But If theres something broke in the trans and it messes up the whole trans then i would have to buy all new parts for insides to other than a case..

It takes about 2 hours to pull the trans out of the truck. Then tear down time. Then repair the case, then reassemble, then reinstall. Total time at a good shop would be about 4 days. I know if I drop my truck off at the trans shop I go to on a tuesday I have it back on Friday.

The JB weld would work for a patch job. But for how long who knows. It may last for 100,000 miles it may last for 10 miles. Depends if something hit the trans to cause the damage or if something broke inside the trans. Being you drove it to and from the gym. I would think something in the road it the trans and caused the damage. That is a wierd spot for the trans to become damaged unless something let loose inside (which I doubt because the truck is still driveable). Or if something caused damage from the outside of the trans ( which is more likely what happened.).

Make sure you are getting what you asked for. I have an extended warranty and ask just for tranny. Well tranny went out and the plan I have covers everything minus powertrain. I might be getting a $6700 tranny. Tranny's cost $5K but I spent $1700 for the useless warranty.

On your 3rd picture down, if you look at where the vertical part of the case connects to the horizontal part, is that a crack that runs all the way across? (hard to tell) If it is that looks to be a casting failure.

I would attempt the JB weld first until you figure out what to do.
