Slipping in reverse?

Went to take off for work this morning. Let the truck warm up for a minute or two. Went to put it in reverse. Nothing. Put it in drive went forward. Back to reverse and it sat for a little bit then slipped in. Bad tranny? Low tranny fluid? This is the first time it's done it

there is a snap ring inside the trans that breaks and causes this kind of issue. I had a buddy who had the same thing happen. Shortly after his truck wouldnt hold past 3rd gear. Ended up needing a rebuilt trans.
