Overflled Trans
Hi there, Went and had my 06 torque shift tranny flushed and filters changed. When I got it home I noticed a different kind of smell comming from under the truck. What it turned out was tranny fluid had sprayed all over the exhaust, I checked the level and it was way over full, I drained out about 6 Litres before the level came down on the dipstick, I then took it for a drive and the check engine light came on, but no more tranny fluid blowing out the vent tube, Any thoughts on the check engine light. It must have something to do with the tranny, Appreciate any info, Thanks

The tranny should be fine; I'm assuming the smell has gone away now... Also, you should have the codes pulled from your local auto parts dealer (if they can) or using an OBD-II code reader. Typically, tranny problems are indicated by a flashing overdrive light.
