under 90,000 and trans crapped out

Well taking a 6 hour tirp to indy last weekend pulling a small 6x12 enclosed trailer with 2 motorcycles in it. I had the Trans go out on me 5 miles from the track. the truck has never seen trans temps over 185 towing our car hauler in the summer but stuck in down town traffic the temps got to 190 witch didnt bug me. we stopped to get some food then took off again. I was going 45mph and a guy cut in front of us I had to slam on the brakes an when I did the trans seemed to down shift very hard and the was a clunk in the shift. I then went to ease back u to speed as this guy was still only doing 15mph and the trans had a large bang and the truck just free reved. What trans should I go with I have it at a shop now that does alot of work on the 6.0 and he is suggesting a Jasper with a billet tq conv. or the oem ford replacement trans. what do you guys think should I do??
