Symptoms of a Torque Converter going out?

Ever since i got the truck i noticed that when downshifting from 6th to 5th i would start to hear and feel a grinding/shake for about a second right before the Transmission would shift. It really didn't bother me much because it only happened in that gear. But recently i have been noticing that as i come to a stop from low speeds (20-30mph) probably in third gear the truck would really give a rumbling feeling even once i completely stopped with my foot on the brake. I am wondering if this sounds like the locking clutch or something in the torque converter is going out.

Yes my truck is modded with a towing tune and Xtreme Street tune from IDP, though i do notice the issue with any of the tunes i run, even the standard SCT Tunes.

Did you ever find out if it was indeed your torque converter going out? My truck is starting to shake in overdrive before it downshifts out of the gear and I was thinking it was the TC going out as well. Any updates would be appreciated.

I have not got to the bottom of it yet, just kind of been dealing with it for now. I was also having some problems when pulling a heavier load (10,000+) and my truck would tend to shake in 5th gear. I talked to the ford dealer on the phone and he recommended bring it in and doing a transmission test where they hook it to their machine and test drive it for twenty minutes and log all of the data given. I plan on doing that at some point but I just haven't had the time yet.
