? about new trans

Does the reman. Trans from ford come with torque converter? Also is there any place that sells remans cheaper than ford, or beefed up remans at same price as ford?

Thanks

It does not "usually" include a tq converter... Hard to give advice on a cheaper trans if we don't know what you were quoted in the first place! Also... What trans are you buying? More detail is need to properly answer your question.

Sorry, its 05 6.0 auto trans, 4x4. Im getting a 3-5 flare that happens on about the 40-70% throttle range. It gets worse if I drive it hard. Im looking at the ford reman. Trans for $3100.

OK, so I was running SCT canned Performance tune, with 10% line pressure boost on the 3-5 shift with a worsening 3-5 flare. Dropped it to Street Tune and upped to 15% pressure increase. A lot better. For now Im looking at getting a new solenoid, gogo or something, but I understand there are a lot of alternatives, with better performance that the gogo and then get a custom tune to even it out.

Any recommendations on tune writers that are good at correcting the 3-5 flare?

Any recommendations on a better solenoid?

Thanks

I would get Tonys tunes... Total Diesel Performance I had a 3-5 shift flare when running Matt's SRL but I ran it that way for 2 years and I still haven't had a problem and I DO run the piss out of my truck. Do you have custom tunes now? If you get custom tunes I wouldn't change the values of the shift pressure % because the customs tunes has it set to a specific % and if you want firm shifts just ask a tune writer to change it. I recently had problems with horrible trans shifting using Matt's SRLxx and found out that my shift % were increased and once I changed it back to default shifting worked correctly again.

Just canned SCT right now. It only would do it in mid to heavy throttle. If I went WOT it shifts great, and with changing the tuning helping, im thinking that a custom tune will fix it and prevent damage to th DD clutch. How does paying for tweaks work, like say I want a slight change, or the flare is still there, do I pay another $40 or something?

Usually, as long as you don't change, tuner, turbos, or injectors small tweaks like that are free. I'm my experience Tony has been a lot easier to get tweaks from compared to Matt.
