torqshift tranny questions
Okay i drove my roommates truck, its not mine, and before it gets totally warmed up the transmission has problems. after it warms up it is fine. but i drove it after she got home and it did this:
first gear and then it gets stuck and holds there like it wont shift out of first. wont go up in rpms even if you hit the pedal harder. finally after a few seconds it shifts into second then does it again, finally goes into third then it is fine for the rest of the gears. does this for a few minutes of stop and go and then it is fine. Shifts regularly and you could never tell there was a problem. |

The 6.0L trucks hold themselves back on power until they warm up. This is to help the transmission live longer. I have had customers tell me exactly what your saying and it be just that. The truck is holding back power until the trans is warm. This lack of power does make the trans feel weird. I hope this is what you have experienced. Take it to the shop to be safe. They will probably need her to leave it over night to cool, but atleast you will know if its normal or not. Thats kind of a hard thing to diagnose thru the keyboard lol. Good luck

Nope no tune on this truck (unfortunatly). I am his roommate by the way the truck is mine and its not the one in my sig. I got it fixed though. I took it in and go the newest updates and now it runs like a dream. Still lags a little bit if its not warmed up but I have been told that its just a protection for the transmission. It used to sound really bad when i started it in the morning and now it purrs like a lovely diesel kitten.
