can torque converter cause shake

have 04 f350 duelly , my girlfriend was hauling a empty stock trailer over the kootney pass on the other side the she said the truck started to shake like it was going over a washboard road , it didn't do it all the time just on and off . she talked to a mechanic at the horse show and he said it was the torque converter clutch , she drove back in tow/haul and it was better .was not in tow/haul going up the hill on the way over . does this sound like i need a new torque converter ?? any ideas on how i can check or test the t/c

That sounds about right. I must have missed your post earlier. Under load that symptom is pretty typical. Did they tell you what was wrong with the injector? Stuck spool, nozzle or plunger? Anything else would have thrown a code. Even these could have thrown a contribution code, but don't always.

That's interesting to hear. I'm having the same symptoms in my truck and I was thinking it was the torque converter because it only does it when the truck is pulling over a hill locked in OD. I never would have thought it was an injector issue. I guess I'll have to check those as well. Thanks for the update/info.
