Hey guys, does anyone have a pic of how deep the torque converter is suppose to sit inside the transmission? Im about 90% positive mine is sitting as deep in as it can but when I bolt the tranny to the block, I can't turn the crank over. It acts like it's binded up. And when I go to unbolt it the tranny doesnt just sit flush with the block, it moves slightly back like the converter isnt all the way in it or something. Any help would be great, thanks
I had the same problem I bolted mine up went to torque the torque converter bolts and couldn't turn the motor by hand I had to unbolt it and a tech in town told me to pull the converter off an it should click three times when you put it on and spin it and on each click it'll go further back in the bell houseing now my motor turns
Your converter should sit further in, not flush cause you gotta remember your fly wheel sit back inside the bell houseing when you bolt the bell housing to the engine
if it's hanging up on the step where it engages the pump it can take a little to get it to settle since there are only two spots 180* apart, so by the time the pump gear spins along with the TC just from the TC pushing on the face of the gear....
