Torque Converter all of a sudden failure?

While I'm stuck at work I'm trying to see all the different possibilities of why all of a sudden my 05 acted/acts like its in neutral, shifting through reverse and drive I can hear a slight change in the load on the motor like it would normally but nothing. Is it possible that the torque converter all of a sudden failed, truck has 103k miles on it.
