04 oil leak at trans dipstick

I have a 2004 6.0 that's sprung an oil leak where the trans dipstick goes into the trans case. Anyone have the issue and fix it? it looks like there is nothing to hold it in the case and no gasket or o-ring on it either...how is it supposed to not leak?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Generally the fill tube is seated into the housing with an Oring, The ring will only be visible once the fill tube is removed. It can be difficult to remove and is best to use a slide hammer in my experience. The rings will wear out and start to leak over time. Generally there is a bolt on the engine housing that holds the tube. Remove that and I use a slide hammer and vise grip to pop the tube up and out of the case. You may have to drain a few quarts else it will spill out the hole. Pull the oring off and bring it down to napa. they usually have an assortment of rings there. Make sure to lube it before seating it back in the housing. Use a rubber mallet for seating the tube.

Note that I don't have experience with your specific trans or model but this is generally the case when dealing with a leaky fill tube. Hope that helps a little.
