Transmission flush...sp or the new mercon vi?

My ford manual says to use mercon SP...the ford dealer just told me i can use the new fluid as it's backwards compatible. What should i use?

How many quarts should i get, 15? I am flushing doing the 2nd transmission flush at 60k miles.
