05 f350 shudders in reverse

I experienced a problem shortly after pushing a very heavy boat/trailer in reverse into my shop, the surge actuator made backing very difficult, later that day when backing the truck up it shudders heavily in reverse, any ideas as to what i may have done/ where to take the truck for an estimate? I just bought the truck and have not had it serviced yet, it has the turbo deisel and the previous owner had the edge chip and exhaust installed, thanks.
