6speeds *any body having problems*

i have a friend whos f-350 cab/chassis- will starts surging violently in 3rd and some times 2nd gear when pullinge cattle trailer or 24ft flat bed loaded up a
incline. If you keep your foot in it and ride out the bouncing, it will smooth out. most for the time the bouncing gets to be to much. the rpm,s or somewhere between 1300 & 2000 if i can remeber correctly. Is any one else having this problem?

my guess would be a flywheel or a clutch problem...how many miles on the clutch...what year...etc..

My 05 done the exact same thing around the 5,000-10,000 mile area. I have a curve you take around 15mph then up a steep hill and with a 8,000 or more load I had to start in second and would do that just about every time. Back out then get back on it and it was fine. I have had the PCM updated 3 or 4 times since then and havent noticed it back. My truck now has 27,500 miles. Your not alone. BTW, was it a 7.3 or 6.0??

I don't know how bad the symptoms are but I know that the 6.0 does not like to be lugged down past 1500 rpm on a hard pull. Even an automatic with locked torque converter tuning will rumble, growl and shake the truck if lugged at lower rpms. Keep the revs more in the 1800+ range and see if that helps.

Hopefully this is the problem and it's not something more serious like clutch/flywheel issues.
