Overdrive going?
Hi all,
My 2004 F350 dually has been acting weird in over-drive. I never drive the thing hard because I just cruise around going to basketball practice with my kids and all, never usually going over 50. When i get to about 40mph, it shifts into over-drive and it starts to shake. All other gears are fine up until that point. I then go into "tow/haul" mode just so it shifts down. I really don't have the funds for a new tranny, so if that is the issue, I am kinda screwed. Maybe i can get a chip that makes it shift at a different point, because I really don't need over-drive at 40mph. What do you guys think? |

Can I get the codes from my buddies OBDII reader? I could even stop in at Autozone or something like that if I needed to. My tow/haul light does not flash, stays solid all the time. thanks, Mike |

as my transmission was going out and I was losing solenoids, some would throw codes, some would not; it depends if the solenoid is stuck on or off. I believe any OBDII reader will read the code if it throws a code but I'm not sure.
There's some info, I think p43, showing what codes are thrown and why. 5R110W (RWD) Transmission for 2006 MY FORD OBD System for 6.0L Diesel Engine hope this helps... |
