Will turning OFF Electronic Overdrive ....
to slow down, like an engine brake, hurt trannie ? This is under no load, 110 k to 30 k from hyway over turn out ramps. Truck is a 04 E 350 Extended 6.0 L PSD

I do the same thing all the time. From what I have heard putting it into tow/haul only increases the pressure and changes the shift points. The only thing that might ware out sooner is the lockup clutch in the TC. When it down-shifts the TC cluch is engaged to positively lock the engine to the transmission.

You should be fine doing that FYI the tow haul button for the torqshift will not actually turn off overdrive.
