Mercon SP in the transfer case or something better?

Is there a better fluid for the transfer case instead of the recommended Mercon SP?? I know Amoil has the universal ATF now that is SP approved, how about the low viscocity "syncromesh" fluids?? I just want the best gear protection and I don't think Mercon SP gives that being it's so thin

The transfer case fluid is supposed to be just Mercon ATF. NOT SP!SP is only for the transmission if the truck is a 2003 up automatic with the 6.0 diesel.
