tow/haul doesn't work

So I thought my tow/haul light was blown out but I hooked my Snap On scanner up to the truck and when the button is depressed it will not activate the tow/haul. Anyone have any suggestions where to start. My truck is an 03 F250.

Check the wires that go down your shifter into your steering colum. Mine did the same thing and when I took it apart there was a broken wire. Every time you shift your truck your bending the wires and eventually they brake. Hope this helps.
