tow/haul light stays on

Hello, I'm stuck in tow/haul. Haven't had any problems with the trannie until this. I can't get out of tow/haul. I have returned back to stock from the Looney tune from Vivian and now my truck will not shift normal. I don't drive like a bat outa hell and always flash to stock for towing. What the hell does this mean? I took the dash apart and removed the cover around the steering wheel, the wiring for the shifter tow/haul button is intact. I've read where a flashing tow/haul lights mean stored codes but I don't pull any codes for trans with AE. Well other than low EGR flow and mismatched FICM to ECM. Any help?

LOL guess I should give some details.

2004.5 Excursion. 84k miles. never really tow heavy or much at all.

OK so if I hit ALL codes in AE vs. current I get some codes and can't make sense of it. Another thing I have discovered is that when I use needle nose pliars to briefly short the two pins farthest apart in the column connector for the tow/haul button it does turn off the indicator on the dash and my truck drives normally. I can only assume that the truck is not getting signal from the proper places to the ECM so the trans controls are in error. The strange thing is that I can;t turn tow/haul off and on with the shifter momentary switch signal but the shorting turns it off but not back on. So I either have a ECM going bad or a harness issue. Any ideas?

I think I may have a ECM issue. I am now getting a intermittant check engine light with P0198 and the truck has not been driven. Just starting it testing the tow/haul light.

I'm dumb, it was my shifter. Go figure. But I would like to thank everyone for all the help. LOL
