Tow Haul Shift Problem Please advise!
Hi: This is my first post, I have a 2007 F-250 4x4 6.0 at 100k miles and no previous problems. When driving at 45mph and above the tranny will down shift from 4th to 3rd. intermittently by it self, just like I pressed the tow haul button. When this happens NO tow haul light comes on. When the tow haul button is pressed the tow haul mode works perfectly.
I just had the tranny serviced and no problems were apparent. Could this be a wiring or switch problem in the steering column? Can I disconnect the tow haul wiring or pull the fuse and drive the truck to see if this condition stops? What would be the best way for me to diagnose this problem? If I pull the fuse it also disables my climate control so this is a problem in Arizona.Do we have any Ford Tranny Engineers on this Forum who could help? If so could someone direct me them their way?
